John Lojek Sr.

John Lojek Sr., 85, of Bentleyville, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, in Havencrest Nursing Center, Monongahela.

He was born November 24, 1932, in Bentleyville, a son of the late Adam and Mary Gajewska Lojek.

Mr. Lojek was a 1951 graduate of Bentleyville High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1953 to 1955. He was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.

Mr. Lojek was employed as a sheet metal worker by Morgan Bros., Wilkinsburg, and Chapman Corp., Washington, for over 30 years.

He was a lifelong member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Bentleyville, Lithuanian Club, Bentleyville, and Sheet Metal Workers of America Local 12.

He was a Bentleyville Council member for many years.

Mr. Lojek loved fishing, hunting, sitting by the fire and spending time with his family.

On November 23, 1957, he married Caroline Staschiak, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of 60 years, are two daughters, Deborah Lojek of Bentleyville and Kathleen Lojek (Jack Conley) of Robinson Township; a son, John Lojek (Karen) of Washington; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lojek was the last of his immediate family.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are seven brothers, Henry, Ed, Emil, Frank, Bruno, Stanley and Joseph Lojek; and two sisters, Jenny Bohnak and Helen Longstreth.

Services are private and under the direction of Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville.
