Dorothy E. Branch
Dorothy E. Branch, 82, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, January 27, 2018, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
She was born September 22, 1935, in Winterville, N.C., a daughter of William and Clara Smith Branch.
Ms. Branch was a graduate of Winterville High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from East Carolina University, a master’s degree in biology from Creighton University in Nebraska and a doctorate in theology from California Institute.
Through most of her working career, she was a high school biology teacher, followed by home health care in her later years.
Ms. Branch was Southern Baptist, which was most important to her throughout her life. She formed her own company, Mansions Media, to forward her faith-based works. This company produced her public access radio show in Los Angeles, Calif., published her written work in the form of books and poetry and booked speaking engagements.
Surviving are four children, Mark T. Ipock (Robin) of Dayton, Ohio, Paul Ipock and Susan E. Katz, both of Canonsburg, and David Ipock (Brooke) of Cary, N.C.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Heinlein (Brett), Cheyenne Ipock, Daniel Katz, Joshua Ipock, Indiana Ipock and Abel Ipock; a great-granddaughter, Addison Binn; a sister, Joyce Causby (George) of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, Kirby Branch (Carol) of Winterville; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, William Ashley Branch and a brother who died at birth.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in North Carolina. Arrangements are entrusted to McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342.
