Sandra “Sandy” Malone Leonard, 71, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018, surrounded by her two children, in Chattanooga, Tenn.

She was born October 19, 1946, in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert William Malone and the late Rhea June Peterson.

Ms. Leonard previously owned and operated Wildwood Flowers in Belleair, Fla. She was very active and philanthropic in the community, a member of International Order of the Rainbow for girls, and Junior League of Clearwater.

She was a 1964 graduate of Trinity High School.

Ms. Leonard was loving, caring and a highly devoted mother who sacrificed so much for her family and friends. She was always thinking of others and always wearing a smile on her face. She made a difference in so many lives. She loved traveling, reading and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, cousins, friends and pets.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family.

Surviving are two children, David R. Leonard Jr. (daughter-in-law Jennifer M. Leonard) of Houston, Texas, and Michelle L. Leavy (son-in-law Ian K. Leavy) of Chattanooga, and two grandchildren, Matson D. Leonard and Owen J. Leavy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Robert W. Malone.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A private interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.

As flowers are not permitted in the mausoleum, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Rescued Pets Movement, The Jack C. Alexander Building, 2317 West 34th Street, Houston, TX 77018 or Rescuedpetsmovement.org.
