Michael Anthony Baughman, 21, of McMurray, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Canonsburg Hospital.

He was born January 15, 1997, in Washington, a son of Tonie Baughman, who survives.

Mr. Baughman was a graduate of Peters Township High School.

Michael was a sweet spirit with a warm personality and beautiful smile. His spirit had the ability to calm everyone around him. He had an awesome sense of humor and loved laughter and music. He loved his mother, little brother and grandmother Eleanor deeply. When asked who his hero was, he chose his brother Derek. He was a strong and determined young man who, despite his limitations, worked hard to accomplish the goals assigned to him. His mother, Tonie, stated, she “could not have asked for a more ambitious and loving son.”

Surviving are his loving and devoted mother, Tonie Baughman, his stepfather, Mark Traeger, and his brother, Derek Anthony Baughman, all of McMurray; his maternal grandmother, Eleanor Baughman, and his stepgrandmother, Patricia Traeger, also of McMurray; and his aunt, Doretta Wesley, and cousin Daniel Wesley, both of Louisville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ernest Gill.

Friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, with Darla A. Tripoli, certified celebrant, officiating. Interment will be private.
