Janet Myrtle Main
Janet Myrtle Main, 63, of Mt. Hope, W.Va., formerly of the Washington area, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2018, in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., after having been in declining health for some time.
Born September 22, 1954, in Washington, a daughter of the late Lee Craig Main and Mary Adelaide Lamb Main, formerly of West Alexander.
Janet graduated from McGuffey High School and earned her associate’s degree from Duff’s Business Institute.
She most recently worked in the office for Budd Baer and had worked as an office manager at Tomsic Motor Co. in Washington.
Janet was a member of West Alexander Methodist Church.
She spent the last years of her life in Mt. Hope, where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included quilting, playing and singing church hymns on the piano, and helping others.
Janet is survived by two daughters, Marcy Marie Hunter of Covington, Ky., and Lauren Renee Hicks (Travis) of Mt. Hope; three grandchildren, Levi Parker Hicks, Logan Wrangler Hicks and Aspen Adelaide Hicks, all of Mt. Hope; two brothers, Marvin Wade Main and Joseph Lee Main (Nancy), of Alliance, Ohio; a sister, Linda Adelaide Bland (John) of West Alexander; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Wayne Main, and a sister, Ada Lee Main.
Janet’s request for cremation has been honored by her family, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
