Carl “Kite” Harris, Jr., 73, of Langeloth, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness Saturday morning, July 21, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born September 15, 1944, a son of the late Carl and Helen Marie Martincheck Harris.

He was a graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in marketing management from Morris Harvey College.

He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves as a military policeman during the Vietnam conflict and was honorably discharged, a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge.

Mr. Harris retired from the Commonwealth of Pa., where he was an unemployment counselor.

He is survived by his two sisters, Donna Brenlove and husband Nick of Upper St. Clair Township and Christine Daring and husband Ken of Eagle River, Wis.; sister-in-law Andrea Harris of Washington; nieces and nephews Molly Perenic and husband Mike, Eli Brenlove, Benjamin Harris, Adelaide Davis and husband Matt and Jessica Dale Pobroy and husband Joseph; and two great-nephews, Nicky and Alex Perenic.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his brother, Michael Harris, and several aunts and uncles.

To honor his wishes, there will be no public visitation, and interment was held privately by his immediate family.

If so desired, memorial donations may be made in his memory to Burgettstown Community Library, 2 Kerr Street, Burgettstown, PA 15021.

Arrangements are under the direction of Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown.
