James Michael Hopkins
James Michael Hopkins, 49, of Waynesburg, died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born Tuesday, May 20, 1969, in Waynesburg, a son of James E. Hopkins of Waynesburg and the late Linda Kay Miller Hopkins. Surviving is his stepmother, Vickie Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461. He loved to ride his motorcycle and enjoyed hunting.
He was a truck driver for 22 years and was a former employee of Hoy’s Construction Co. in Waynesburg.
His wife, Deysha Lynn Steadman Hopkins, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, in the same motorcycle accident as her husband.
Surviving are two sons, James Cody Hopkins and Jon Wyatt Hopkins, both of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, RiLynn Hopkins; two stepdaughters; the mother of his children, Jonnie Dee McCallister of Morgantown, W.Va.; two sisters, Janet Baxendell and Amanda Gaines, both of Waynesburg; two brothers, Troy Allen Hopkins and Jason Curtis Hopkins, both of Waynesburg; two stepsisters, Tammy Policz of Waynesburg and Amy Powell of Dilliner; his paternal grandmother, Mary Louise Hopkins of Waynesburg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a granddaughter, Shane Elizabeth Hopkins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 3, with Pastor Robert Mooney officiating. Burial will be in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the funeral home to help with costs.
