JoLynne Sedmak

JoLynne C. Sedmak, 71, of McMurray, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, in her home.

She was born October 26, 1946, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Andrew and Josephine Yonack Sedmak, who preceded her in death.

A graduate of Peters Township High School, she went on to attend Penn State University, where she majored in home economics, and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. She lived in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, Calif., for a number of years before returning to McMurray. She worked as a legal secretary and an interior designer for several businesses and organizations, including the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee in the 1970s, until her retirement.

She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Marc) Sedmak-Weiss of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and brother David (Pamela) Sedmak of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; an uncle, Vincent “Butch” (Joan) Peternel of Massachusetts; and cousins Robert (Grace) Verchek of Sterling, Va., Roseann Carick Frazier of Strabane, Deborah Sedmak Ackerman of Canonsburg, Joseph (Karen) Sedmak of Houston, Milena (Brian) Sedmak Novicki of Tampa, Fla., Rosemary Peternel Leary of Simpsonville, S.C., and Elizabeth Peternel Bottomley of Winter Haven, Fla.

Among her interests and passions were cooking, interior design and fashion.

Interment was private. Arrangements were entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, and Darla A. Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
