Dorothy M. Matyuf
Dorothy M. Matyuf, 84, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg, with her husband of 60 years by her side.
She was born August 31, 1933, in Canonsburg, the only daughter of the late Michael and Constance Michalowicz Ogrodowski.
Mrs. Matyuf lived her entire life in Canonsburg and was a homemaker. She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church and Ladies Altar Society. Dorothy enjoyed baking, cooking and word search books.
On May 19, 1958, she married William “Skiffy” Matyuf, who survives.
Also left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Susan Lesko and husband Jay of Chartiers Township; her beloved granddaughter, Brittany N. Lesko; and several nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor, and Darla Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg (724-745-8120), where Parastas services will be held at 7 p.m. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 23, in the funeral home, followed at 10 a.m. by funeral services in St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 601 Boone Avenue, Canonsburg, with the Very Rev. Joseph Oleynik, Rector, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Chartiers Township.
