Denise Lynn Totterdale
Denise Lynn “Dee” Totterdale, 66, of Houston, passed away Monday, June 18, 2018, in her home.
Dee entered the world June 8, 1952, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Laskowski Totterdale, in the Canonsburg/Houston area and was a 1970 graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School and a 1974 graduate of California University.
She worked a career in retail and prior to her retirement was employed at Kohl’s, where she was a supervisor of the men’s department.
Dee was a very creative person who loved music, especially Motown. She enjoyed cooking, watching movies, traveling and being on social media and actually made a real-world friendship via a Facebook friend in England. The two of them were huge Barry Gibb fans and Dee extended an invitation to Susan Fellows-Kemp of Leister, England, to come across the pond and stay at her home. Dee showed her around Washington and Pittsburgh before both boarded a train to Miami to continue the adventure and perhaps catch a glimpse of Barry Gibb.
Dee was a friend to all, and if you were lucky enough to be around her, you just couldn’t help but be in a good mood. She loved laughter and having fun and always had both to spare. She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Gary Keller.
She is survived by one uncle, Gordon Pastovich; cousins Judy Hart, Lois Mercer, William and Charlene Totterdale, Charlene Fortunato, Cindy Pastovich, Tommy Totterdale, James Totterdale, Virginia Laskowski and Kristina Ciehanoski.
Because Dee was such a wonderful and caring person, she formed a number of special relationships throughout her life. She was the loving daughter that Jane and Harry Keller never had. She also shared a bond with “the gang” – Andy and Colleen Kuzy, Mike and Colleen Yanosky, Mary Jo Jindra and Jill Martinsky. None of them were related by blood, yet, they were all family and no seven friends were ever closer.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public visitation or services. She was interred privately with her parents in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, LFD, owner/supervisor and Darla Tripoli, LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120.
