Carol Jean White, 66, of Washington, died unexpectedly Thursday, June 21, 2018.
She was born August 14, 1951, in Craley, a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Robert L. Close and Phyllis Oberholtzer Close.
Carol graduated from Albright College in 1973, and then earned her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh. Dr. White was a family physician.
A lifelong learner, she had an interest in science and nature. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Rebecca (Ralph) Pietrofesa of Harrisburg; a son, Nate (Rebecca) White of Uniontown; two sisters, Christine (the Rev. David) Brinker of York and the Rev. Cecily Eisley of Ralston; two grandchildren, Arlyn and Eva White; and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
