Maria H. Rollo, 89, of Washington, died Sunday, June 24, 2018, in Strabane Woods, South Strabane Township.

She was born November 9, 1928, in Montevideo, Uruguay, a daughter of the late Juan and Hilda Garrido Anicetti.

Mrs. Rollo graduated from high school in Montevideo and went on to work as an accountant there. She became a homemaker after her immigration to the United States.

She enjoyed watching sports on television and was a “news junkie” who loved watching CNN. She was an accomplished knitter and made blankets, which she donated to nursing homes. She also loved spending time with her grandson and family.

On December 5, 1953, in Montevideo, she married Francesco Rafael Rollo, who died October 16, 2014.

Surviving are a son, Franco Eduardo (Jean Ann) Rollo of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Sandy G. (Fred) Rollo-DeLong of Meadow Lands; and a grandson, Sebastian DeLong.

Deceased is a sister, Elsa Ghelfi.

There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to celebrate a funeral liturgy at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 535 Pike Street, Meadow Lands, PA 15347, with the Rev. Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. All other services will be private.
