Stephen J. Markulik
Stephen J. Markulik, 51, of Carmichaels, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 27, 2018, in his home.
He was born December 29, 1966, in Washington, D.C., a son of James and Boots King Markulik.
Stephen was a 1985 graduate of Parkview High School, Sterling, Va. He worked most recently as a cook at Waynesburg University and Hot Rod’s House of Barbecue, Waynesburg, and as a licensed practical nurse at Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown.
Stephen was a lively and charitable person who enjoyed helping others.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Todd Markulik and wife Christine of Mount Airy, Md.; sister Susan Hagler and husband Steven of Melbourne, Australia; four nephews, Daniel Markulik and wife Irene, Cal Markulik, Ben Markulik and Taylor Hagler and fiancée Nicole; two nieces, Nikki and Stephanie Hagler; a great-niece; and three great-nephews.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels, with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. A vigil service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
