Roy Lee Strawser, 83, of McDonald, died Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

He was born July 15, 1934, in Reedsville, W.Va., a son of William Stanley and Lillian Arvella Trautman Strawser.

He was a man with a strong desire to make this a better and safer place to live. He was a proud American. He made it his life’s work to save others from the perils of accidents while he patrolled the streets and reported dangers to the proper authorities. He was out there every day helping to keep everyone safe.

God saw him getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around him and whispered “Come live with me” where the “streets are paved in gold” and your work can continue to be. God will love him and keep him and God will grant him peace.

Surviving are three nephews, Darrell Metheney of Neville Island, Robert Holmes of Pittsburgh and George Curl of Butler, and many great-nieces and nephews.

Deceased are four sisters, Lola Cerzo Herzer, Lucille Margaret Holmes, Leona Curl and Eleanor Marie Metheney, and a brother, George J. Strawser.

A memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, March 2, in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial contributions can be made to Nation Funeral Home Inc., 218 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057.
