Olive Maxine Frye, of Dallas, W.Va., passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018.
She was born February 24, 1930, in Washington County, a daughter of late James and Sylvia Riggle Armstrong.
Mrs. Frye was a graduate of West Alexander High School.
She and her husband, Oakie, were the owners and operators of Frye’s State Line Grocery, established in 1964, until retirement in 1983.
Surviving family are daughter in-law Cora Sue Frye; sons Richard and wife Cheryl, Dennis and James and wife Becky; daughter Cindy Clutter; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by sisters Mary and Margie; brother Leroy; sons Dave, Gary, Roger; daughter-in-law Susan Mary Frye; and grandson James Frye.
Mrs. Frye was very devoted to her family and a friend to everyone she met. She loved her flowers, especially irises, also gardening, canning and the beauty of nature throughout the seasons.
She was a member of West Alexander American Legion Auxiliary Post 656 since 1962, Dallas Lions Club. She enjoyed Bunco Club and Dallas fish fries.
Mrs. Frye was loved and will be missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to American Legion Auxiliary Post 656, Dallas Lions Club, or Dallas Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323, 724-663-7373, www.youngfhinc.com, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 6. Interment will be in West Alexander Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at West Alexander Legion.
