Amanda Elizabeth Hagedorn Butt, 81, of Mt. Morris, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018, in her home.

She was born Friday, March 13, 1936, in Morgantown, W.Va., a daughter of the late Delmar and Martha Snyder Hagedorn.

Mrs. Butt was a member of Mt. Morris United Methodist Church.

She was a member of James T. Maxon American Legion Post 992 Auxillary in Mt. Morris, where she was past president and sergeant-at-arms. She was also a member of Mt. Morris Senior Citizens.

When her health permitted, Mrs. Butt enjoyed playing bingo, baking, cooking and visiting with people. She worked as a lunch and bus aide at the former Perry Elementary School, Mt. Morris. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Preston Butt, whom she married June 6, 1956; a daughter, Lori Haines of Mt. Morris; two grandchildren, Kyle and wife Lisa Aldhizer and Katie Aldhizer; a great-granddaughter, Julianna Aldhizer; a sister, Maxine Burns of Morgantown; three brothers, Sam Hagedorn of Milwaukee, Wis., Frank Hagedorn and wife Debbie of Tulsa, Okla., and Marshall Hagedorn and wife Margaret of Eustis, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving is her dear friend, John Patti.

Deceased are a sister, Jackie Hagedorn; and a brother, Cecil Hagedorn.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 324 Mt. Morris Road, P.O. Box 478, Mt. Morris, PA 15349. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Friday, March 9, in Mt. Morris United Methodist Church, 256 Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, with the Rev. Jacob Judy and the Rev. John Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris.
