Dorothy Jean McClelland, 85, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 3, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born October 23, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of John Pugh and Gertrude Mitchell Pugh.
Mrs. McClelland attended Washington School District.
She was a homemaker and, along with her husband, co-founded Gospel Way Church in Canonsburg.
Mrs. McClelland enjoyed TV, shopping and eating out. Her biggest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother.
On January 11, 1950, she married the Rev. Harold “Jiggs” McClelland, who survives.
Also surviving son Harold Joseph McClelland Jr. of McDonald; daughters Lisa Ann (James) Hixenbaugh of Avella, Deborah Bird of Strabane and Carla Sue (Frank) Sanpietro of Canonsburg; sister Anna Mae Grummick of Dover, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are brother John Pugh Jr. and sisters Betty Jane Ek and Gertrude Pratt.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 8, with Pastor David Hamer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
