Patricia A. Sellers Coffman of Canonsburg, formerly of Waynesburg, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, in her home, under her family’s care, following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her loving family when she passed.

She was born April 22, 1940, in Moundsville, W.Va.

Mrs. Coffman was a graduate of West Virginia University School of Nursing with a B.S. in nursing. She worked as a nurse and nursing educator at West Virginia University Medical Center and Ruby Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years, before retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed many activities, including family cookouts, researching her family tree, being involved in her book club and having her grandchildren and grandnieces and grandnephews around.

Mrs. Coffman was a devout member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, Waynesburg, and was actively involved with the United Methodist Women’s group, until her illness made it too difficult to travel.

On May 14, 1975, she married Henry S. Coffman, who passed away May 9, 2003.

She is survived by three daughters, Dr. Julieanne Watters and husband Joe Gonzaga of Canonsburg, Debra Coffman of Denver, Colo., and Lisa Swaney of Uniontown; grandchildren Elizabeth Gordon of Denver, Bill Swaney of Uniontown and Alex and Emma Gonzaga of Canonsburg; great-grandchildren Sarah-Ann and Ashlyn Gordon and Alex, Tyler and Trinity Swaney; a sister, Beulah E. Davis of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, Dudley Sellers Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, with the Rev. William Parker officiating. Burial will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township, PA 15370.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
