Fred W. “Woody” Tennant Sr., 65, of Waynesburg, died at 10:22 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, 2018, in UPMC-Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born Saturday, November 1, 1952, in Waynesburg, a son of Betty Joseph Tennant of Waynesburg and the late Carl R. Tennant.

Mr. Tennant enjoyed fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

When his health permitted, he worked as a laborer for Atlas Railroad.

His wife, Barbara Ellen Jones Tennant, whom he married October 21, 1970, died February 3, 2008.

Surviving are two daughters, Tracy Tennant of Waynesburg and Jessica Buchina and husband Andrew of Waynesburg; a son, Fred W. Tennant Jr. and wife Tara of Waynesburg; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta DiBiase of Carmichaels, Barbara Keys of Lippencott and Velma Louise Rush of West Elizabeth; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Carl Ray Tennant Jr.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the time of service, Monday, March 26, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Pastor David A. Woods officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery.
