Charles “Jay” Reid, 67, of Carmichaels, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018.

He was born June 9, 1950, in Waynesburg.

Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Dolores and Walt Jones of Indian Shores, Fla.; sister Robin Simons of Carmichaels, with whom he made his home for the past several months; brother Roger Reid and wife Pam of Mt. Pleasant; four nieces, Cynthia, Nicole, Rachel and Megan; two nephews, William and Ryan; seven great-nephews and great-nieces; uncle Jerry Reid and wife Sharon of Omaha, Neb.; and aunt Linda Livingston and husband Terry of Uniontown.

Deceased are his father, Charles Hastings Reid, and brother Gregory Reid.

Jay was a lifelong member of John Corbly Baptist Church in Garards Fort. He was also a member of Bobtown Rod and Gun Club.

He worked as a weighmaster with Gallatin Fuels. Until his retirement, he worked at Kyowa in Waynesburg.

A memorial service will be held at noon Sunday, May 6, in John Corbly Baptist Church, 107 John Corbly Lane, Garards Fort. All friends are welcome.
