Darlene D. Connolly
Darlene D. Connolly, 64, of Washington, died Saturday, May 5, 2018, after a lengthy and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis.
She was born January 26, 1954, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Fritz and Dolores Schmiedlin Gilbertson.
Mrs. Connolly was a graduate of Avalon High School. At one time, she worked as a clerk for the now-Honorable Judge John DiSalle in his law firm.
Mrs. Connolly enjoyed watching the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates and going out with her friends for dinner. She loved her two dogs, Buddy and Buster. Most of all, Mrs. Connolly enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
On August 28, 1976, she married Mark A. Connolly, who died December 28, 2011.
Surviving are two sons, Ryan (Nicole) Connolly of Peters Township and Matthew (Staci) Connolly of Washington; two brothers, Dean and David Gilbertson; two sisters, Dori Massucci and Nadine Meyer; and four grandchildren, Ian and Declan Connolly and Sofia and Marko Connolly. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of funeral service, Wednesday, May 9, in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
