Mary Elias Amshay
Mary Elias Amshay, 92, formerly of Washington, died peacefully Thursday, May 3, 2018, in North Carolina.
She was born February 20, 1926, a daughter of the late Abraham and Ginny Elias.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Amshay, and a daughter, Diane Pratt.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and daughter, are her sister, Anne Ward, and brothers Joe, David and Leo Elias.
Surviving are her son, Don (Gayle), and granddaughter Lara Amshay.
Mary was employed by McWreath Dairy, Hazel-Atlas Glass Factory and Washington Hospital, where she worked in the medical records department. Mary was an excellent hostess, meeting the needs of each guest.
She enjoyed working in her yard and maintaining it.
Mary and Benny made annual trips to North Carolina to visit their son and spend extra time with their granddaughter.
Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Immediately following visitation, a committal service will be held in the chapel in Washington Cemetery.
