Justine Ruskowski Markish

Justine Ruskowski Markish, 76, of Cherry Valley, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018, in UPMC-Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.

She was born July 10, 1941, a daughter of the late Stanley and Elizabeth Lilly Ruskowski.

Mrs. Markish was a parishioner of the former St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Cherry Valley, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Burgettstown.

She was a caregiver to many and an avid reader. She enjoyed doing puzzles and crafting, especially coloring.

Her husband, Samuel E. Markish Sr., whom she married July 14, 1960, survives.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her three children, Steven J. Markish and wife Connie of Atlasburg, Robert Markish and wife Marcie of Clinton and Pamela Markish of Burgettstown; grandchildren Steven M., David, Melissa, Jennifer, William, Maranda and Matthew Markish, Marah Ragan and Joey Crisco; great-granddaughter Malia Ragan; brother Stanley Ruskowski of Cherry Valley; sister Shirley Crowley of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a son, Samuel E. Markish Jr. and wife Tina McKee Markish; a grandson, Samuel E. Markish III; and a sister, Betty Ann Moore.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown.
