Monteka Marie Johnson, 22, of Canonsburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 10, 2018, in her home.

She was born January 27, 1996, in St.Clair Hospital, Pittsburgh, a daughter of Lamont Johnson of Canonsburg and Rebecca Dvorak of Canonsburg.

Monteka was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Canonsburg.

She was a dedicated student, pursuing her career as a pharmacist and proudly striving to be the best when it came to furthering her education.

She was a phenomenal person and used her positive, effervescent energy to lift the spirit of every person she met. She enjoyed cheerleading, dancing, traveling, adrenaline chasing and sharing her positive energy with the world.

Surviving, in addition to her parents, are brother Lamont W. Johnson of Canonsburg; sister Monique N. Johnson of Canonsburg; maternal grandparents William M. and Gloria Dvorak of Canonsburg; paternal grandmother Linda Ebore of Washington; nieces Rayella and Laylynn; nephew Lamont; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Anthony Johnson, and her maternal great-grandmother, Bertha Quaresima.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. An additional visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the time or service, Wednesday, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Canonsburg, with Pastor Anita Lovell officiating.
