Catherine A. Say
It is with great sorrow her loved ones announce the passing of Catherine A. Say, 63, of Kent, Ohio, formerly of Tiffin, Ohio. Cathy passed away peacefully Thursday evening, May 17, 2018, with her husband and daughter by her side.
She was born May 30, 1954, in Washington, to Benjamin and Carole (Meredith) Gariglio.
On October 5, 1974, she married Nicholas R. Say.
Cathy was a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter, who succumbed after a courageous five-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
Cathy leaves behind her husband, Nick; daughter Kristin; granddaughter Ella; mother Carol; and siblings Benjamin, Cindy, Mark and Gary.
She was preceded in death by her father, Benjamin.
Cathy spent 38 years of her life educating the youth at Seneca East Local Schools as an elementary teacher and reading recovery specialist. She retired in June 2016 and has since spent time with her family and traveling to various destinations.
Visitation for family and friends will be held noon to 3:30 p.m., the time of a memorial service, Monday, May 21, in Hoffmann-Gottfried Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, 236 South Washington Street, Tiffin, OH 44883, 419-447-2424, with the Rev. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery.
