Artie Jane Mounts
Artie Jane Mounts, 91, departed this life Tuesday morning, May 8, 2018, in Shalom Park Nursing Home, Aurora, Colo.
Mrs. Mounts was born October 21, 1926, in Waynesburg, a daughter of George and Jane Davis.
She grew up in Claysville and moved to South Franklin Township after marrying Homer Hamilton Mounts September 26, 1942. Mrs. Mounts lived and worked on the family’s dairy farm. Over the years, she also worked at Hathaway’s Grocery Store on Route 221 and Ramada Inn. Before moving to Colorado, she was a longtime member of East Buffalo Church, Washington.

Those who knew her remember her as a witty, fun-loving woman who loved her Lord, cherished time with family and friends, and always kept busy with many hobbies. She loved to read and play games, was an avid baseball and football fan, and rarely missed a performance when her husband (a tri-state area fiddle player) played with his square dance band.
Mrs. Mounts is survived by a son, Roger Mounts (Joyce); brothers, Kenneth and Harry Wayne Davis; grandchildren, Heather Hertig (Larry Haney), Shelly Nadler (Leigh), Eric Mounts, Jason Mounts (Anne) and Shannon Peddicord (Justin); and great-grandchildren, Michael and Maura Hertig, James, Joshua and Molly Helbley, Jude and Eli Mounts and Jacob and Levi Peddicord.
Deceased are her husband, Homer Hamilton; a son, Homer Stanley; and three brothers, John, Jim and Earl Davis.
At the request of Mrs. Mounts, there will be no formal memorial service. A private family celebration will be held.
