Marie Louise DeCook Cunningham
Marie Louise DeCook Cunningham, 95, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully Tuesday evening, May 22, 2018, in her home.
She was born July 10, 1922, a daughter of the late Frank and Cecelia DeVaulkeneer DeCook, and was raised with her eight siblings on their family farm in Joffre.
Mrs. Cunningham was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and grandchildren.
Her beloved husband of over 75 years, William Cunningham, survives.
Also surviving are her loving daughter, Christine Thomas and husband Michael of Burgettstown; five cherished grandchildren, Leigh Enos and husband Damon, Helene Thomas, Michael B. Thomas and wife Kelly, David and Mark Thomas; eight great-grandchildren, Hannah, Hallie, Haidyn, Annie and Manny Enos, Jacob and Dahlia Shoup and Gage Thomas; two sons, Robert and William Cunningham; and several nieces and nephews.
The last of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Joseph, Bud and Vic DeCook; and four sisters, Ida Kortyna, Celestine Moore, Frances Thomas and Denise Vermeulen.
To honor Mrs. Cunningham’s wishes, there will be no public visitation, and services will be held privately.
