Marjorie “Marge” Conn Vanatta, 78, of Washington, died Monday, May 28, 2018, in Southminster Place of Presbyterian SeniorCare, Washington.

She was born March 13, 1940, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Kirkland W. and Frances Barricklow Conn.

She was a graduate of Brownsville High School and went on to be a cafeteria worker in Trinity High School for 20 years.

She was a member of Church of the Covenant, Washington.

On August 12, 1961, in Taylorstown, she married Charles R. Vanatta, who died March 24, 2001.

Surviving are two daughters, Shelley (David) Bane and Beth (Gerald Jr.) Smith, both of Washington; brother Donald Conn of Valparaiso, Ind.; four grandchildren, Tyler (Karen) Bane and Steven Bane, and Laura (Paul) Phillips and Lindsay (Nicholas Wall) Smith; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law John “Thomas” Vanatta; and sister-in-law, Mary Alice (Tony) Luskoski.

Deceased are five sisters, Georgella Browning, Thelma Rollison, Audrey Ritchey, Helen Thomas and Retha Shonts and a brother, Delmar Conn.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, with the Reverend Dr. Stuart D. Broberg officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
