Mary Quattro, 97, formerly of Bentleyville, died Monday, May 28, 2018, in Strabane Woods of Washington.

Born March 23, 1921, in Cherry Valley, a daughter of the late Jon and Agnes Widz Nakoneczny.

On November 12, 1938, in the former St. Kennedy’s Church, Canonsburg, she married Jack Quattro, who died February 4, 1975.

Mary was retired from the former Gee Bee Department store in Washington, where she was manager of the cosmetics department. She was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Church, Bentleyville Campus, Catholic Daughters of the America’s Court Dolores 1675, Orchard Lake Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 26, Canonsburg Hospital Women’s Auxiliary, Democratic Women’s Club, Chartiers Houston Senior Citizens, Bentleyville Lioness Club, Bentleyville Senior Citizens, Miraculous Medal, Golden Agers and Meals on Wheels.

Mary enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, cooking and baking. She is survived by her son, Gary Quattro of Allison Park; three grandchildren Jennifer (Pat) Flynn of Collier, Janine (Dave) Shirley of Cranberry and Dave (Danielle) Quattro of Deemston; five great-grandchildren, Katie and Emily Flynn, Austin and Mattie Shirley and Evan Quattro; and three stepgreat-grandchildren, Dillon Spencer and Deion and Destinee Irey; and sister Cecelia Smiddle of Finleyville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Vincent Quattro; three brothers, Walter, Alex and Joseph Nakoneczny; and three sisters, Nellie Kortyna, Helen Malesky and Agnes Albininni.

There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to gather at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 2, to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Katherine Drexel Church, Bentleyville Campus, with the Rev. Edward Yuhas officiating. Entombment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Carroll Township. The family requests that no flowers be sent. The staff of Strabane Woods provided excellent care.
