Elsie Orison Boyer
Elsie Orison Boyer, 76, of Slovan, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, November 1, 2018, in South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Canonsburg.
She was born November 28, 1941, in Francis Mine, a daughter of the late Lou and Nettie Harshey Orison.
Mrs. Boyer worked for Wells Orchid in West Virginia and Boyer Personal Care Home in Hanover Township, as well as being a homemaker and raising her family.
She enjoyed playing bingo and shopping.
Her beloved husband of over 50 years, Harry A. Boyer Sr., whom she married February 19, 1959, passed away February 3, 2009.
She is survived by her four children, Pamela Durnell and husband Dennis of Eighty Four, Mary Chechuck and husband George of Avella, Harry A. Boyer Jr. and wife Linda of Slovan and Janet Plazarin of Washington; grandchildren Michael Chechuck and wife Ann, Michelle Powers, Angel Simons, Justin Chechuck, Shelby Erb, Ryan Durnell, Beth Matthews, Bernie Tustin, Kevin Evans, Hillary Chechuck-Kennedy, George Chechuck and wife Heather, Bradley Boyer and wife Mary, Brandi Knott and husband Bob, Joseph Boyer Jr., Carl Boyer, Brittany Gabor and husband Steve, Jennifer Boyer and Ashley Glass; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Lou Orison of Calcutta, Ohio; a sister, Jenny Weigner of West Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Leona Silvers.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a son, Joseph Boyer; two brothers, James Orison and Joe Nadock; and three sisters, Mae Orison, Minniebell Weigner and Esther Williams.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, November 5, with the Rev. Kenn Jacobs officiating. She will be laid to rest in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery.
