W. Ronald Kurtz, 86, of Scenery Hill, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born August 3, 1932, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Walter J. and Mary Rhodes Kurtz.
Mr. Kurtz was a 1950 graduate of Bentleyville High School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.
Mr. Kurtz was co-owner of Kurtz Auto Parts & Auto Repair for over 50 years. He was also a self-employed farmer who raised beef cattle.
Ronald was a 50 year member of F&AM Lodge 237, a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Consistory Valley of Pittsburgh and Ellsworth Sportsman’s Club.
On June 12, 1957, he married Julia Ann Joris Kurtz, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Mary Jo Kurtz-McAnulty (Bruce) of Bentleyville and Ronald J. Kurtz (Mary Anne) of Pittsburgh, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Mona McFadyen, and two brothers, William and Dale Kurtz.
Funeral services are private and under the direction of John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main St., Beallsville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 1645 West 8th St., Erie, PA 16505.
