Marilyn M. Bish
Marilyn M. Bish, 79, of Waynesburg, died at 2:41 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, having succumbed to her battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born Tuesday, December 27, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John Gerard Miller and Sarah Evelyn Fox Miller.
Mrs. Bish was a graduate of St. Basil High School in Carrick. She was a voracious reader and never met an English mystery she didn’t like. She enjoyed gardening and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mrs. Bish loved all animals, cats in particular. She was a wonderful cook and loved baking. She had a wonderful smile that will be remembered by everyone who knew her.
She worked as a caseworker and later as compensation supervisor for Greene County Unemployment Office, prior to its relocation.
Her husband, Paul Bish, died in November 1982.
Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Uhlemann of Pittsburgh and Melissa (Charles) Gorby of New Freeport; a son, Matthew (Mary) Bish of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Ian Bish, Sarah Bish, Benjamin Gorby, Olivia Gorby and Trent Uhlemann; sister Rose (Allen) Heider; brother Thomas (Zeta) Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, November 10, in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, with Father Albin McGinnis officiating. Private burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rogersville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Catnip Acres, 155 Dark Hollow Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
The staff of Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and Via Quest Hospice provided wonderful care to Mrs. Bish.
