Debra Ellen Statler
Debra Ellen Statler, 57, of Amherst, Ohio, went to be with her Lord Monday, November 12, 2018, in Twilight Gardens Home in Norwalk, Ohio, following a 17-month illness.
She was born December 1, 1960, in Amherst, a daughter of Richard C. and Marjorie L. Riggs Statler of Amherst.
Debra graduated from Firelands High School and Lorain County Joint Vocational School with the Class of 1979. She lived in Florida, Alaska, Germany, Illinois and Montana before returning to Ohio, where she had made her home since 2001.
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Debra worked in several occupations outside the home, including as a dental hygienist. She was a member of Henrietta United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included crafts, watching movies and visiting friends.
In addition to her parents, surviving are her daughter, Alice Louise Peters (Mark Ewer) of Illinois; grandchildren Robert, Christopher, Abigail, Emily and Ryan Lehmann; sister Dianna Lynn Womer (Steve) of Delaware, Ohio; nieces Jennifer Marie Marangoni (Don) and their son Steven and Melissa Lynn Schuster (Dan); and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Edna Statler and Charles and Margaret Riggs.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 17, with the Rev. Jacob Judy officiating. Burial will follow in Fairall Cemetery, Whiteley Township, Greene County. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Henrietta United Methodist Church, 52148 SR 113, Birmingham, OH 44001, or Murray Ridge Center, Recreational Department, 9750 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
