Glenn C. Levy

Glenn C. Levy, 83, of Washington, died Friday, November 16, 2018, in Transitions Healthcare, South Strabane Township, following a lengthy illness.

He was born September 28, 1935, in Twilight, a son of the late Samuel T. and Dorothea O. Lammay Levy.

Mr. Levy attended Charleroi schools and was Presbyterian. He began his working career as a delivery truck driver for Goose Goslin Trucking Co. Mr. Levy then became a partner with Capp Trucking Co. of Pittsburgh and later went on to become terminal manager of Blue Diamond Trucking in Baltimore, Md., from where he retired.

Mr. Levy enjoyed woodworking, golfing, working with stained glass and camping trips with his family. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, dune buggies, sports cars and antique cars. If it had wheels, he liked to ride it. Mr. Levy was also a private pilot at one time. He was a member of Teamsters Local 585. Most of all, he enjoyed all the precious times he spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.

On April 14, 1956, he married Johanna B. Brandtner, who survives. The couple had been married for more than 62 years.

Also surviving are a son, Michael (Jody) Levy of Washington; a daughter, Carol (Thomas) Dolovacky of Scenery Hill; a brother, Sam (Ruth) Levy of Daisytown; a sister, Sally Sedunov of Wyano; two grandchildren, Joseph and Samuel Avolia, both of Washington; three great-grandchildren, Irelynd, Dakohta and Emmah Avolia; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen Leaper of Somerville, N.J., and JoAnn Brandtner of Greensburg; a nephew, John (Elizabeth) Sedunov III of Paoli; three nieces, Valerie (Dave) Kostley of Greensburg, Cynthia (Chris) Leonard of North Carolina and Danielle Leaper of Somerville; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are two nephews, Tim and Jeff Levy; a niece, Lorraine Levy Horvath; and two brothers-in-law, John Sedunov Jr. and Valentine Brandtner.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 20. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
