Howard C. Dietz, 76, of South Franklin Township, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in Washington Hospital.

He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Shirley Kislear Dietz; brother of Janet (Richard) Madden and the late Mary Lou Snodgrass; brother-in-law of Ross Snodgrass and the late Peter K. Kislear Sr.; and son of the late Charles and May McAdams Dietz. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

Howard liked to golf and read. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Washington Elks Lodge 776, where he was a past exalted ruler and secretary for a number of years. He was also a member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.

There will be no visitation. Burial with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 15, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
