Nancy Eddy, 78, of Deltona, Fla., formerly of Rogersville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2018, in her home, with family by her side.

She was born March 10, 1940, in Brownsville, a daughter of the late Arthur and Annabelle Tearschock Haywood.

Nancy was a 1958 graduate of Brownsville High School. She then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in biology from California University.

Nancy was employed by Pine Ridge High School and West Greene High School, before retiring. For more than 25 years, she taught algebra and various other subjects.

On October 22, 1979, she married John R. Eddy. Nancy and John resided in Greene County until 1995, when they moved to Deltona.

Nancy was a faithful Christian. She was very passionate about Christ and brought many people to her Lord. She was deeply loved by her family.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, John R. Eddy; two children, Raymond (Donna) Lott of Douglasville, Ga., and Kimberly (Carlos) Vega of Deltona; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Matty (the late Andrew) of Las Vegas, Nev.; nieces and nephews; and her extended family.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her brother, Arthur Haywood Jr. (the late Jerri), and a great-granddaughter, Lydia Wright.

A private burial will be held in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, per Nancy’s wishes. No flowers please.
