John L. Scalzi, 78, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Washington, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, in Cape Coral (Fla.) Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 10, 1940, in Washington, a son of the late Ann and John B. Scalzi.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Sally Scalzi, and his first wife, KayJo Mounts.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Doak; two sons, Brian and John; four granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.

John was a 1959 graduate of Trinity High School. He was employed by Drakenfield for many years and later moved to the Philadelphia area, where he was employed by Johnson-Matthey, until his retirement.

Services will be held in Washington at a later date.
