Elaine Motto Waters Duckworth

Elaine Motto Waters Duckworth, 93, of Washington, died Monday, September 10, 2018, in her home.

She was born October 31, 1924, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Santoro Motto.

Mrs. Duckworth was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington.

She was a 1942 graduate of Ramsey High School in Mt. Pleasant.

Mrs. Duckworth worked as an inspector at Robert Shaw in New Stanton, where they made airplane parts for the war effort during World War II.

She was a lover of music and enjoyed playing the piano and crocheting. She was the ultimate homemaker and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

On June 26, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant, she married Robert O. Waters, who died September 28, 1963.

On May 19, 1965, in Washington, she married Joseph K. Duckworth, who died December 20, 2004.

Surviving are five sons, Keith (Alba) Duckworth of Freedom, Kenny (Sue) Duckworth of Canonsburg and Dominic (Joanne) Waters, Bob (Rebecca) Waters and Matt (Lisa) Waters, all of Washington; three daughters, Susan Ealy and Elaine Waters, both of Washington, and Joann (Bob) Howanec of Canonsburg; three sisters, Peggy (Art) Schroyer of Chicago, Ill., and Janet Evans and Joy (Al) Fernstone, both of Pennsylvania; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Debbie Bash, and a sister, Ann Black.

Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 14, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, with the Rev. Dan Waruszewski officiating. Friends interested in attending the interment are to meet at 12:30 p.m. Friday in St. Pius X Cemetery, South Diamond Street, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to Heritage House of Houston, 140 West Pike Street, Houston, PA 15342.
