Cora A. Hillen
Cora A. Hillen of Lawrence went home to be with her Lord and Savior September 14, 2018.
She was born September 16, 1928, in Lawrence, a daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Luke Davies. She lived most of her life in Lawrence and attended Faith Chapel.
On May 7, 1956, she married David H. Hillen, who passed away in 2004. She worked at Kaiser Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, and retired from Mayview State Hospital in 1991 after 24 years of service.
She leaves behind a son, James (Lisa Marchando) Hillen of Lawrence; daughter Linda (JC) Stevens of Cecil; sister Margaret (the late Robert) Holden; brother James (the late Jean) Davies; granddaughters Kayla Marie Hillen and Kelsey Lynn Stevens; and great-grandchildren Vanessa and Kaylee Hillen, Isabela Perez and Bryson Wesley Hillen. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are siblings Loretta (the late Gino), Charles (Ellen) Davies, Viola (Alfred) Kaikaka, Donald Davies and George Robert (Ruth) Davies.
She is also preceded in death by her beloved son, David Lee, and grandsons David Michael and Jaymes Wesley.
She loved reading her Bible and attending church. She enjoyed feeding the many birds in her yard. She was proud to be a life member of “The Fellowship of Christians and Jews.”
Hospice nurse Jenna Quinones of Allegheny Health Network provided Cora with outstanding care, compassion and friendship throughout her illness. Chaplain Jim Ailes offered his inspirational music and shared the love of God with Cora. Lou Sklinchar provided dedicated care and companionship through Twin Oaks Home Care and Malti volunteered countless hours to visit with Cora.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, with Pastor Jim O’Brien. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
