Connie Gatti D’hoedt

Connie Gatti D’hoedt, 96, of Prosperity, died Sunday, September 16, 2018, in her home.

She was born October 28, 1921, in Asunción, Paraguay, a daughter of the late Alexander and Celia Romero Gatti.

Mrs. D’hoedt studied in Paraguay and then worked in the United States as a seamstress and homemaker.

She was an avid world traveler and enjoyed painting.

On November 30, 1940, in Asunción, she married Albert D’hoedt, who died August 23, 1989.

Surviving are five daughters, Celia (Gottlieb) Fischle of Australia, Cristina (Bill) Barr of Pueblo, Colo., Lucy (Tom) Mahaffey of Prosperity, Perla Smith (Norman Misaique) of La Pine, Ore., and Blanca (John) Erickson of Greensboro, N.C.; a son, Ruben (Katrina) D’hoedt of Santa Maria, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a son, Albert D’hoedt; a daughter, Graciela D’hoedt; and two brothers, Luis and Antolín Gatti.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Wednesday, September 19, in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, with Roger Farrah officiating. All other services will be private.
