John Krynak
John Krynak, 78, of Florence, Hanover Township, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, September 18, 2018, in his daughter’s home in Paris.
He was born February 7, 1940, in Burgettstown a son of the late Steve and Mary Dragnett Krynak.
After graduating in 1959 from Union High School, Burgettstown, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a K-9 trainer from 1964 to 1965, the time of his honorable discharge. He was a recipient of the Expert Rifle Badge.
Mr. Krynak worked for Weirton Steel, did construction, was owner/operator of his own trucking company and operated his own farm on Curry Road in Burgettstown for many years.
His beloved wife, Beverly Roby Krynak, passed away December 23, 2011.
Surviving are his four children, Bonnie Krynak of Hanover Township, with whom he made his home in his final days, John Krynak of Michigan, Barbara Cooper and husband Charles of Wellsburg, W.Va., and William Rahr and wife Janice of Wellsville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Nina Kramer and husband Nick, Crystal Krynak, Gage Rudy and Brock Krynak; 11 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren, Kayden, Nicholas, Lucy, Day-Shaun and Carmyia; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, Steve Krynak Jr. of Paris, Thomas Krynak and companion Joann Easterday of Washington and Mike Krynak and wife Janice of Bulger; three sisters, Mary Ann Mankey of Claysville, Frances Keating and husband Jack of Follansbee, W.Va., and Patricia Terhorst and husband Ron of Eldersville; brother-in-law Aemil Metalik of Burgettstown; several nieces and nephews; and his dear cousin, Barbara Gedman of McDonald.
Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a daughter, Brenda Boyer, who died April 23, 2018; a son who died in infancy; sister Barbara Metalik; and sister-in-law Marlene Krynak.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21, with the Rev Jason Romine, pastor of Victory Life Worship Center, Paris, officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
