Blanche Giecek Sworden

Blanche Giecek Sworden, 92, formerly of Washington, died Monday, September 17, 2018, in Silver Creek, Ga., where she lived with her daughter, Linda Mullis, for the last seven years.

She was a daughter and the last remaining child of John Giecek and Mary Pence Giecek.

Mrs. Sworden was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband of 57 years, John Stanley Sworden; three brothers, Joseph, Walter and John Giecek; four sisters, Olga Adams, Helen McNeely, Jennie Cerenzia and Loretta Hoy; and her beloved son-in-law, Dr. Kenneth L. Mullis, who died in December 2011.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda Mullis, and grandchildren Michael Mullis (Stacey) and sons Nicholas and Lucas of Silver Creek, Rachael Mullis Boyd of Birmingham, Ala., and Dr. Daniel Mullis (Jennifer) and children Brynn and Julian of Gainesville, Ga.

As requested by the deceased, all services were private. Arrangements were handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., Washington.
