Anthony Michael Boone
Dr. Anthony Michael Boone, 52, of Pittsburgh, formerly of New Jersey, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
He was born September 17, 1966, in Louisville, Ky., a son of Jane Sterle Boone of New Jersey and the late Francis Boone.
Dr. Boone was a graduate of Eastern High School in Voorhees, N.J. He also was a graduate of Camden County College and Stockton University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and Duquesne University, where he received two master’s degrees in counseling and psychology. Dr. Boone later went on to receive his doctorate degree at Duquesne University in counseling.
He was employed as a college professor and was a brilliant therapist, owning his own practice.
Dr. Boone had an insatiable, intellectual curiosity, loved life, treated everyone with kindness and respect and loved animals. He enjoyed reading, listening to music, yoga, hiking, traveling and spending quality time with his family and friends. His loving companion, his Yorkie Maltese dog, “Bowden” will miss him greatly. Dr. Boone was taken from his family and friends too soon.
On October 6, 2012, he married Dr. Erin Neuman Boone, who survives.
Also surviving are his two-month old daughter, Victoria Jane Boone, whom he loved dearly and called his “Monkey Doodle;” a brother, John Cripps Boone of New Jersey; three sisters, Caroline “Leiha” Boone of Pennsylvania, Linda Boone of New Jersey and Sheri (Anthony) Marchegiani of New Jersey; father-in-law and mother-in-law Jim and Susan Neuman of Eighty Four; sister-in-law Kristen (Wayne) Cimino of Houston; brothers-in-law Dr. Brian (Johanna) Neuman of Baltimore, Md., and The Honorable Judge Brandon (Carrie) Neuman of Canonsburg; and eight nieces and nephews, Alex Wolfe, Dahlia Boone, Harmony Marchegiani, Hayley O’Neil, Konnor O’Neil, Wayne Cimino, Josephine Neuman and Abraham Neuman.
He will also be missed by his in-law’s Yorkie Maltese, “Champ.”
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 28, with Pastor Peggy Shannon and the Rev. Donald Austin co-officiating. Burial will follow in Chartiers Hill United Presbyterian Church Cemetery, North Strabane Township.
