Scott M. Hoffman
Scott M. Hoffman, 58, of Washington, died unexpectedly at 2:22 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in the emergency department of Washington Hospital.
He was born December 21, 1959, in North Charleroi, a son of James V. and Joanne Malak Hoffman of Belle Vernon.
Mr. Hoffman graduated from Belle Vernon High School in 1978 and from Pennsylvania State University in 1982 with a degree in environmental engineering.
He was employed as a licensed professional engineer for several engineering companies and was currently employed at KLH Engineers.
Mr. Hoffman participated in 5K and 10K races in the 1980s. He coached Fayette City Midget League Football, Belle Vernon Thoroughbred Baseball and the Washington Township Queens softball team. An avid fly fisherman and conservationist, he was also active in Chestnut Ridge Trout Unlimited Chapter 670, where he held various offices, including president.
Mr. Hoffman was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington.
He was a loving and caring family man who was loved by many, especially his family, who were his life. He will be dearly missed.
On September 21, 1991, he married Nancy G. Spishock Hoffman, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Andrew Scott Hoffman, and a daughter, Alyssia Francine Hoffman, both at home; two brothers and two sisters, David (Nancy) Hoffman, Jodi (Mark) Leuner, Amy (Jamie) Dindal and Brad (Deyon) Hoffman; sister-in-law Audrey Reardon; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where a prayer service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 29. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
