Evelyn M. Queen
Evelyn M. Queen, 86, of Washington, died Friday, September 28, 2018, in South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Canonsburg.
She was born September 6, 1932, in Washington, a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary D’Amico Accetturo.
She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. After high school, she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. and later retired as a secretary in the operating room at Washington Hospital.
Mrs. Queen was a member of American Legion Post 902 Auxiliary, Houston, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg, and Alpine Club.
Surviving are a son, Robert F. (Lisa Wicks) Queen Jr. of Marianna; three daughters, Debbie L. (Jim) Romano of Washington, Mary Ann (Jerry) Hatfield of Cecil and Jamie L. (Scott) Clark of Washington; 11 grandchildren, Anthony and Gina Kaskie, Jeremy (Jen), Joel, Justin (Carlyn) and Jonah (Alisa) Hatfield, Keely (Carter) Hancock, Scott (Susan) Clark Jr. and Ian, Brittany and Tiffany Clark; three great-granddaughters, Ava Clark and Berkly and Lakin Hatfield; and many nieces and nephews.
She also had three more great-grandchildren on the way.
Deceased are three brothers, Joseph, Samuel and Daniel Accetturo.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 2. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
