Gwendolyn Christine “Chris” Galentine, 75, of Weirton, W.Va., passed away Monday, September 24, 2018, in Villa Vista Royale Nursing Home, Steubenville, Ohio.
She was born October 4, 1942, in Wheeling, W.Va., a daughter of the late Melvin John and Eldora Mae Hewitt Bonar.
Chris was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Wayne Galentine in 1994; brothers John Melvin Bonar and Ralph “Doots” Bonar; and sisters Shirley Shook and Maryann Winters.
She was a sales clerk, having worked at Shaffer’s Pharmacy and Bard’s Dairyland, and for 18 years, in the photo department for Walmart.
She was Christian and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Burgettstown.
Chris enjoyed bowling with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Joseph E. Galentine of Weirton; sister Bonnie (Nelson) Whipkey of Moundsville, W.Va.; grandchildren Alyson Marie Najimian and Eric Wayne Galentine; and her former daughter-in-law, Susan Marie Galentine.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, in Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton, with the Rev. Paul Stead officiating.
