Sara C. Striner
Sara C. Striner, 83, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 6, 2019, in Donnell House, Washington, following a brief illness. She was born December 5, 1935, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Conner Cass.
Sara was Protestant by faith and prior to her retirement she had been employed for 20 years as a telephone operator with AT&T in Florida. She lived in Florida from 1965 until 1991, when she returned to the area.
She was a member of Slovene National Benefit Society Lodge 6.
Her husband, Anthony Striner Jr., passed away October 7, 1984. Left behind to cherish her memory are her three sons, Anthony Joseph Striner and his wife, Leigh of Merritt Island Fla., John Michael Striner and his wife, Renee of Leesburg, Va., and Matthew Alan Striner (Paula) of Stow, Ohio; her daughter, Mary Ann and her husband, Roger “Burt” Page of Viera, Fla.; two sisters, Rebecca Fehl of McDonald and Marie Ullom of Hickory; a brother, Raymond “Buzz” Cass and his wife, Janet of Trinity, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are several brothers and sisters.
At Sara’s request, there will be no public visitation. A private family time and celebration of her life will take place in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., Joseph P. Salandra LFD owner/supervisor, Darla Tripoli LFD, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, with interment to follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
