Joan McClure
Joan McClure, 81, of Canonsburg, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019, with her family by her side.
Joan Ann Phillips McClure was born to the late Delmont and Ethel Phillips on May 15, 1937, in Houston.
She graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in 1955.
Joan married William McClure in Winchester, Va., August 11, 1956. They resided together in Canonsburg for 62 years.
Joan loved her family and her church. She volunteered at St. Patrick’s School, was a CCD teacher and was a volunteer in Pastoral Care at Canonsburg Hospital. She also worked at Bell Telephone and Washington Hospital for the switch board.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, William McClure of Canonsburg. She was the beloved mother of four children, Renee Campbell (Ed) of Mt. Vernon, Mo., William McClure Jr. of Canonsburg, Melissa McClure (Mike Hartman) of Scenery Hill and a beloved, late son, Jeffrey McClure of Carnegie. Joan had five grandchildren, Jenny Taylor (Trent) of Ellicott City, Md., Matt Golubosky of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; Liam Dunn of Washington, Celia McClure of Washington and Mckayla Hartman of Scenery Hill. She also had four great-grandchildren, Bellana, Annaka and Ryker Taylor of Ellicott City, Md., and Amelia Thompson of Washington. She was the dear sister of Nancy (William) Lese, Paul (Gail) Phillips, Charles Phillips and the late June (Robert) Freno. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, February 7, in St. Patrick Parish in Canonsburg.
