Carmen M. Kerr
Carmen M. Kerr, 87, of Carmichaels, formerly of Smithfield, passed away at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2019, in Waynesburg Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 17, 1931, in Nemacolin, a daughter of the late Flores and Benita Garrido Quintana. Mrs. Kerr attended Nemacolin Elementary School and was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. She was a devoted wife and homemaker and enjoyed needlepoint.
On September 7, 1974, she married William G. Kerr, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John David Shanto (Joy) of Wickliffe, Ohio; five grandchildren, Melanie Snyder, Christopher Shanto, Jamie Shanto, Shannon Shanto and Jacob Shanto; a stepson, William G. Kerr Jr. (Tonnie) of Mt. Union; two stepdaughters, Diana L. Kerr of Carmichaels and Donna K. Waine (Fred) of Waynesburg; three stepgrandchildren, Dawn M. Clark (Tony), Vaughn L. Mankey (Celina) and Freddie Waine (Bre); and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Michael Curtis Shanto; two brothers, Joseph Quintana and Nicholas Quintana; and four sisters, Virginia Zaubi, Mary Ustupski, Frances Zaubi and Cecelia Gregorich.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 16, with Pastor P. Keith Larson officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Crucible.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the memorial fund of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
