Jennie Wilds-Hertzog, of North Strabane Township, died peacefully in her sleep Monday, February 11, 2019 in her home.
She was born in California, a daughter of the late Edward K. Wilds and Catherine Whetzel Wilds-Fish.
Mrs. Wilds-Hertzog was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, South Side Hospital School of Nursing and Presbyterian University Hospital Nurse Anesthetist Program.
She worked as a Registered Nurse and obstetric nurse for South Side and Canonsburg Hospitals and as a Nurse Anesthetist for South Side, Homestead and Jefferson Hospitals.
Jennie enjoyed the opera, theater and boating.
On January 8, 1983, she married Dr. Francis J. Hertzog, who died September 25, 2010.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, February 16, in the McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. At the request of the deceased, all services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contribution be made to the charity of one’s choice.
